This agreement governs your use of the SyncIQ platform. We've written it to be readable — not to hide things in dense legal language. If something is unclear, contact us.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and SyncIQ Pty Ltd (ABN pending) ("SyncIQ", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of the SyncIQ platform available at synciq.app and associated applications.
By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
SyncIQ provides a digital platform connecting mentors and mentees for structured professional development. The platform includes matching functionality, messaging and scheduling tools, a self-improvement area, growth signal tracking, and — for corporate subscribers — aggregated organisational insights.
SyncIQ is not a professional advisory service, a coaching certification body, or an employer. We facilitate connections between people and provide the infrastructure for those connections to be productive. The quality and outcomes of any mentorship relationship are the responsibility of the participants.
Eligibility. You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the information you provide is accurate.
Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@synciq.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
One account per person. You may not create multiple accounts or create an account on behalf of another person without their explicit consent.
Corporate accounts. If you access SyncIQ through a corporate subscription, your individual account data remains private in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Your employer can see aggregated program data only.
You agree not to use the SyncIQ platform to:
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
SyncIQ facilitates introductions between mentors and mentees. We do not guarantee the quality, availability, or suitability of any match. Mentorship relationships formed through the platform are voluntary and the responsibility of both parties.
Mentors on SyncIQ are independent individuals, not employees or contractors of SyncIQ. Any advice, guidance, or information shared in a mentoring session is the personal view of the mentor and does not constitute professional advice.
All users agree to engage with other platform participants respectfully and professionally. SyncIQ reserves the right to remove any user whose conduct is reported as harmful, abusive, or dishonest.
Booking. Paid mentor session bookings are requests, not confirmations. A booking is confirmed only when the mentor explicitly accepts it. Payment is processed on confirmation.
Cancellation policy. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before a confirmed session receive a full refund. For cancellations within 24 hours of a confirmed session:
Mentor fees. SyncIQ retains a platform fee of 10% plus applicable payment processing costs. Mentors receive the remainder. All prices are displayed inclusive of GST where applicable under Australian law.
Mentee profile requirement. Your profile must be 100% complete before you can book a paid mentor session. This requirement exists to protect the quality of sessions and the time of our mentors.
Pre-booking commitment. When requesting a paid session you agree to submit three preparation questions honestly. These are shared with the mentor before confirmation and form part of the session context.
Individual subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Corporate subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in accordance with the plan selected. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST.
Payments are processed by Stripe. SyncIQ does not store your payment card details. By providing payment information you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are provided for unused time.
SyncIQ reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. You may cancel without penalty if you do not accept a pricing change.
Individual mood data, self-reflection entries, and growth signals are private to the individual user. This is architectural — not a setting that can be changed by an employer, administrator, or future policy update. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
By using the platform you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
All platform software, design, content, and intellectual property is owned by SyncIQ Pty Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from SyncIQ's intellectual property without written permission.
Content you create on the platform — your profile, messages, session notes — remains yours. By posting content you grant SyncIQ a limited licence to display and process it for the purpose of operating the platform.
Blog articles contributed by verified mentors remain the intellectual property of the contributing author. By submitting an article you grant SyncIQ a licence to publish, distribute, and promote it on the SyncIQ blog and associated channels.
The SyncIQ platform is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, SyncIQ's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid to SyncIQ in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability which cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees relating to services.
You may close your account at any time through your account settings. On closure, your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedules.
SyncIQ may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in conduct harmful to other users, or if we are required to do so by law. We will provide notice where it is reasonable and safe to do so.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland. If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and display a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before changes take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
